The Words of the Day for today is 妈妈，mā ma (mom). It's probably the most used word in all cultures. It's the first word of most kids. My son started calling me 妈妈，then changed to mommy when he started to speak more English. I miss the 妈妈. It's interesting how in most languages, the sounds for Mom and Dad are very similar.
